Rubber Developments started where the chemistry starts: in custom compounding, mixing rubber to specification for other people's parts. Over the decades since, the company grew outward from the compound into every stage that surrounds it. Milling, moulding, extrusion, testing, production. Today RDL is an independent manufacturer that takes a component from formulation through to finished production under one roof, on one team. The compound is still where every job begins.

The whole process,in-house.
An industrial chemist and a materials testing lab on site. Mechanical engineers on the floor. Compounding, milling, moulding and extrusion in the same building. A part can be formulated, tested and made without leaving the premises, and without the loss of intent that happens when those stages are split across suppliers.
One idea, held since 1989: formulate the compound to the environment it has to survive, not to the one closest at hand.
